I haven’t participated in a photo challenge in a long, long time but the Leap Into Spring Photo Challenge, being hosted by Alicia from Project Alicia, Kristi of Live and Love Out Loud and Rebecca from Bumbles and Light has caught my attention.
This week’s challenge was Sunshine/Light. I’ve been up since before sunrise with a stomach ache and it was the rare occasion that I was able to have some early quiet time with my camera and the glorious Easter-weekend morning sunshine.
These are all SOOC (straight out of camera) with no editing aside from sharpening for web. The 50mm makes shooting at 1.8 so dreamy, I can only imagine the photos created with the 50mm 1.2. One day…maybe?
So pretty…
Want to join in on the fun? The Leap Into Spring! Photo Challenge will run from April 6th – May 18th and is open to everyone regardless of geographic location, skill level, time commitment or camera equipment. Simply stop by each Friday and share your favorite images inspired by our weekly prompts. They will have freebies, prizes and photography tips galore!
Here are the weekly prompts:
APRIL
April 6th – Sunshine/Light
April 13th – Easter/Eggs
April 20th – Blossom/Trees
April 27th – Rain/Water
MAY
May 4th – Grass/Green
May 11th – Leap Into Spring! Finale
May 18th – Giveaway Winners Announced

Not sure if my comments are working… this is my third attempt. lol. It won’t accept my email address… But your the warmth from the sun is beautiful, and the bokeh is just gorgeous! =)
I don’t know why comments are being tricky on WordPress today. I appreciate you taking the time to try three times!!!
Thanks so much for taking part in our photo challenge!
These are beautiful, such gorgeous colours SOOC. The bokeh, light and delicate focus are all stunning!
Hope you have a great weekend!
(hope this doesn’t post twice, had issues with commenting)
What a thoughtful comment, Rebecca. Thank you very very much!
I have been looking at that lens! It really has beautiful bokeh. i especially like the cobweb one.
The nifty fifty is great. I had a hard time focusing on that tiny branch with it though. I am happy with what I got but even manual focus, it wasn’t precisely what I wanted. The bokeh is so awesome though, right? it looks painterly and I didn’t do anything but compose and press the shutter!
Hi Mindy, Thank you so much for your kindest comment in my blog
Great job dear!
Your photos are gorgeous!!! You are such an expert to produce these without editing! Pure art! Could never ever do this
Mona! Now you stop it. You need more confidence, the shot you posted for the challenge is GORGEOUS. Seriously, it is really good! I love to edit, I love creating pretty photos in Photoshop, but sometimes I let the lens, and the light, do all of the magic. This morning was a very lucky morning for light!
Very pretty sooc’s – I love shooting with my 50mm – I shoot alot at f1.4 and they turn out really arty but my favourite is at f1.8.
I was pricing the 1.4 and 1.2…whew! Quite a difference in price from the 1.8, eh? I do love the bokeh, not ALL of the time, but once in awhile the effect sure is different! Thanks for coming by!
Gorgeous sooc photos!
Thank you Bethany!!
Hey there – thanks for the lovely comment on my blog. Your pictures are wonderful and you clearly know about all kinds of fancy photography stuff that I have no idea about. I just point the camera in the right direction and press the button!!

You’re welcome Sarah, thanks for coming over today! I am jealous you got to go to Ireland! I look forward to more photos of a place I dream of visiting but likely will never have to chance. Keep shooting, the best way to learn is to do!
These are so dreamy, Mindy. And SOOC too! Beautiful bokeh and light…
Thanks so much for joining us in the Leap Into Spring Photo Challenge! Next week’s theme will be Easter/eggs. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Have a great weekend!

Hope you’re having a great weekend! ~ Barefoot Mama
I had a GREAT weekend, thank you! The best holiday in the world is Easter. HE IS RISEN!
These are indeed dreamy. It is so neat for me to see what those with experience are doing. Thank you for sharing!
Aww thank you! That was really nice to say!
these are really, really lovely photos Mindy! You captured light so beautifully in these photos! I adore the bokeh also!! The second one with the spider web is my favorite, so simple, yet truly beautiful.
Thank you Tish! I am going to look for more spider webs and try this shot again some day soon. I didn’t do it justice the way I wanted to in my head. Maybe stand on the other side instead? Not a huge fan of spiders, but they sure do “pretty” things up with their gorgeous webs!
Very pretty indeed! Lovely captures
Thank you kindly! I appreciate you stopping by and encouraging me!
Wow! I can hardly believe these are SOOC! These really are beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing and taking part in our spring challenge! Looking forward to seeing more in the coming weeks!
Thanks Alicia! I only get awesome SOOC’s with my 50mm outdoors. Any other time, I do some serious Photoshop tweaking.
Btw, I just noticed you have two little ones with C names. Mine are too!
Those are so pretty- I’m just drooling over all that beautiful bokeh.
These are all very beautiful photos. I love the light.
lovely bokeh and the fresh green color
