red envelope

Early yesterday morning I came out into the kitchen to fill out Valentine’s Day cards for Mark and Connor.  When I unwrapped the Papryus card for Connor I realized that the package came with an envelope of it’s own and I had picked up an extra red envelope.  I almost tossed it into the trash but then stopped and put it up on the baker’s rack in the kitchen. I thought it might come in handy someday.

This morning I awoke, poured a cup of coffee and settled in to check my RSS feeds to catch up on some of my favorite blogs. Imagine my happiness when I checked out Life in a Shoe  (here:  http://inashoe.com/ ) and saw her entry for the Red Envelope Campaign.   I immediately joined the Facebook group and went out to find my lonely red envelope and set it up for President Obama.

The Facebook information is as follows:

The majority of Americans DO NOT support President Barack Obama’s abortion policies.
Here’s the idea:

Get a red envelope, very available at this time of year near Valentine’s Day, or ask at the office supply store, or make one out of red construction paper. On the front, address it to:

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington, DC 20500

Don’t put anything inside, seal it and on the back, write the following message.:

This envelope represents one child who died in abortion. It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world.Responsibility begins with conception.
Put a stamp on it and mail it.

That is it. If you visit “Life in a Shoe”  they have a link to print out 24 mailing addresses.

I personally believe that life begins at conception. I am sure that many people that read this blog disagree with me. I respect your opinions and hope that you respect mine. This project is for folks that want to send a peaceful message that we believe in the sanctity of human life and want our voices( and the voices of the unborn) heard.

Please pray for President Obama daily. Pray that he has the courage to do what is right. Pray for his strength and protection. Pray for President Obama to seek guidance from the Lord and accept Salvation, allow him to work WITH the word of God not against it.  Pray for our country and all of it’s leaders. Pray for our troops.  Pray that the President leads our country to a reputable place in history, one marked by a return to what is good and right and built on the foundation of Faith and Truth.

Now find some red envelopes and send ’em off!

Edited to add:

We have been so touched by all of the thoughts and prayers that have been given in Corrigan’s name…and as rough as this road has been we realize, every single day, that our journey has been SO easy compared to the suffering and challenges experienced by other families.  On the side of my blog I will be adding links to families that need your prayers as much, if not MORE, than we do.  I am sure that if you took the time to read their blogs your heart will fill with love for these families and you will wish nothing more than to add them to your prayers. I will try and add someone to every post that espicially needs your prayers. Today, won’t you go and visit this amazing family. Praise the Lord for their strength and love :
