oh no…not a new addiction

I have always enjoyed scrapbooking but never seemed to be able to create the gorgeous pages that people like my friend, Murissa, and my step-mom, Mindy are able to do.  I always had a great idea of what it should look like, in my head, but getting that idea translated to paper often just ended up causing me frustration.  I spent a lot of money and time on scrapbooking when Connor was born but shortly after we moved into this home, 9 years ago, our basement was flooded and all of my scrapbooks were ruined. (we had, literally, just moved in and the boxes that were yet unpacked were stored safely ((we thought)) in the basement)

The flooded results ruined my desire to put so much energy into something that could be so easily destroyed. It probaly saved the family budget though…scrapbooking can get expensive!

Now, I spend a lot of time in Photoshop with my photography and had noticed a new(ish) movement of digital scrapbooking.  I even bought a book from Amazon hoping to learn how to digitally scrapbook but it ended up being for the wrong editing software and, honestly, it confused me.

Today, I decided I was at least going to tackle a very very basic layout digitally. I will probably look back on this in a few weeks and giggle…but I kind of really like it right now.

My poor family…oh how they will miss me….maybe. ha

  1. I love scrapbooking. It is time to relive moments, in slow motion, to reflect on them, when at the time the photo was taken the event was usually a blur. It is also frustrating, layouts for me don’t turn out as I wish. Your layouts turned out fantastic!
