Christmas Eve 2009

This morning I was startled awake by the light. The morning light. I rubbed the night’s fog from my eyes and glanced quickly at the clock. ” 7:44am”, it glowed and my heart began to pound. I scrambled to the end of the bed to find the baby monitor…quickly hit the button to activiate the “video” option and spotted Corrigan, little jammie-footed feet in the air, mouth moving as he sang a sweet morning song…not a thing wrong with the world.

He gave me the only thing that he could for Christmas. The gift of sleeping through the night. One of only five in his entire nearly-19 months of life. There was no reason to panic…he was fine.

I was fine.

Except that my head hurt. From too much sleep.

Irony, oh how I love thee.

Merry Christmas Eve friends and family.

May your holiday be blessed and your memories be sweet.

  1. Oh, how sweet! He is a cutie for sure!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog for Word-Filled Wednesday! I just found this awesome meme not too long ago myself. I hope you will join in with us next week. And, no, you don’t have to use a photo of Christ. You can just share whatever photo and scripture inspires you. Here is a link with more information:

Also, you can visit the blog of the sweet lady who hosted WFW this week and see all the other bloggers who linked up this week. That way you can get some ideas of other photos and scripture they used. There is such a HUGE variety. Here is her blog:

  2. I just read a little bit about your cutie pie and his condition. No wonder you were a little panicked this morning! Wow! I’m so thankful he is doing so much better. I am adding him and your entire family to my prayer list and I’ve also added you to my blogroll. I look forward to reading more and getting to know you better.

    Blessings,
