(not so) Wordless Wednesday: Pinterest cardboard box airplane

I have too much time on my hands and access to Pinterest.  It is probably a good thing I do not have the budget to do the things I “pin” every day.  Thankfully yesterday’s project was just the cost of a brand new roll of duct tape.

Here was my inspiration:Cardboard Box Airplane

I worked on this while Corrigan napped and it took a solid two hours. He wasn’t keen on the goggles or hat that I had gathered for some imaginary play but otherwise he was super happy when he woke to an “air-pee-ain!!!” in his living room.

He was thrilled, can you tell?

Of course, everything is more fun when big brother arrives.

And the best part of all is that I was able to get a new photo of my two boys together. So rare.

I’m not sure what my next Pinterest project will be. This is the first time in my life that I have lived someplace with a fireplace mantel and while I like the way I have it decorated for Autumn, I want to knock it out of the park for Christmas. We are purchasing a log insert for the fireplace (we can’t use real fire since we are renters) that not only is aesthetically pleasing, but is also a radiant heater, so there won’t be that ugly, empty space much longer.  I’ve been browsing for ideas for mantel decor, if you see anything let me know!

(and as much as I want to make it a “classy” Christmas with snow white reindeer and gold or silver trim,  we keep Christmas bright, bold and colorful for the kids.  I keep telling myself that once the kids are grown I can do it the way I want, but the truth is I’m learning to love a crayola-colored holiday!)

Last cardboard airplane shot…

Have a great week!
