Junior Prom 2014

This past weekend was Connor’s Junior Prom. He took his gorgeous girlfriend Abbey and they were a stunning couple.  See?

I should have probably shared that one last, but they are just so classy and stunning together.  This was Downtown where many of the couples gathered for photos for friends and family.

Does she not look like a younger, prettier Katherine Heigel?

Here is when Connor saw her for the first time, my favorite shot of the evening.

And a shot of just my oldest while we waited for his girl to finish getting dressed.

He has changed so much in the last few years. You know me, I had to search out an older shot for comparison. Here ya go, my mind is blown. May 11, 2008 and almost exactly six years later, on May 17, 2014. It really does go by so fast.
then and now prom 2014

I think that they had a good time, teenagers aren’t the most forthcoming so I am not positive, but they sure looked good before they headed out. The school year is finally coming to a close, just 15 more days and Connor can put this crazy, high-stress year behind him. He has been so amazing through it all, keeping up with his grades and sports and guitar lessons, I don’t know how he does it but he is self-driven and I think that will suit him well in life. Love you Connor!

  1. So lovely; so ephemeral. Stare at him; regard him. Drink him in! You won’t have him long. He will go so quickly and so completely to a world of his creation that only he can see or comprehend.

    • I know George, I can feel the time slipping through my fingers faster than sand. It is the way it should be though- raising up a human being to send out into the world, but it is bittersweet. He’s been such a blessing to me, it has been an honor to raise him.
